Adam Afana, a five-year-old who lost his family and nearly his left arm in an Israeli strike on Gaza, is the first Palestinian child injured in the conflict to reach Lebanon. Adam, who once wanted to be a police officer, is now playing with toys and watching videos in the hospital after receiving treatment at the American University of Beirut Medical Center thanks to the Ghassan Abu Sittah Children's Fund. His journey from Gaza to Lebanon was fraught with difficulties, including an anesthetic-free surgery and an extended stay in Egypt.
