Adam Afana, a five-year-old Palestinian boy, lost his father, siblings, and nearly all of his left arm during an Israeli strike on Gaza. Thanks to the Ghassan Abu Sittah Children's Fund, Adam is now the first war-wounded Gazan child to receive treatment at the American University of Beirut Medical Center in Lebanon.
Despite the difficulties of traveling from Gaza, Adam is now in Beirut, where he can play with superhero action figures and get the specialized care he needs. The Fund plans to treat 50 Palestinian children in Lebanon next year.
