Adam Afana, a five-year-old who lost his father, siblings, and nearly all of his left arm in an Israeli airstrike on Gaza, is the first Palestinian child from the conflict to receive treatment in Lebanon. Since May 27, 2024, he has been receiving care at the American University of Beirut Medical Center thanks to the Ghassan Abu Sittah Children's Fund support. Adam had to overcome numerous obstacles on his way to safety, including weeks of bomb shelter and emergency surgery in Gaza.
