Adam Afana, a five-year-old Palestinian boy, has become the first child injured during Israel's assault on Gaza to receive treatment in Lebanon. Adam is currently receiving treatment at the American University of Beirut Medical Center thanks to the Ghassan Abu Sittah Children's Fund. His uncle Eid, who is with him, describes how Adam lost his father, siblings, and nearly all of his left arm in an Israeli strike seven months ago. Despite the trauma, Adam is now playing with superhero action figures and watching videos on an iPad in his brightly lit hospital room.
